Different types of scholarships

The French Foreign Ministry and the French Ministry of Higher education and Research award many scholarships. These scholarships are directly financed by the Ministry or through the French Embassy in Egypt, whose the cultural operator is the French Institute in Egypt (together with Campus France Egypt).

French regions and towns allocate scholarships to foreign students enrolled in programs in their region. They also award doctoral and postdoctoral grants that are managed by the institutes of higher education and research. Regional scholarships may also be granted to foreign students as a part of exchange agreements with foreign institutes.

Some institutes of higher education offer scholarship programmes to foreign students enrolled in their programs. Those excellence or social criteria based scholarships can consist of an exemption or reduction of the total tuition fees for example. To find out more, contact the international relations department at these institutes.

Finally, the European Union provides with study funds through its Erasmus+ Program. In Egypt, the most popular Erasmus+ Programs are the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
